2016 Olympic Archery Hopeful, Nicky Hunt and Mark Smith, Managing Director of the Movac Group Limited, shake hands on another year's sponsorship deal! This is the 2nd stage of a 4 year agreement for Movac to support Nicky during her continued training as she works hard to reach her own target of becoming an Olympic athlete in the next Olympics in 3 years time.
Movac 's sponsorship of Nicky began in 2011, following her double gold medal success at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi (England's first archery gold medal at the Commonwealth Games for 28 years). Despite just missing the 2012 Games after switching from the non Olympic sport compound bow to the required recurve bow, with determination and dedication plus the financial backing from UK Sport Funding and Movac, Nicky is now in full time training at Lilleshall, one of the UK’s National Sports Centres and home of Archery GB, under the South Korean esteemed coach, Songi Woo, who took Mexico from archery obscurity to achieving silver & bronze in London.
Nicky said: “Movac's support for me over the last few years has been amazing. It's a partnership I am very proud of, and has made a significant difference to my training towards the Rio 2016 Olympics. In 2011 I was working full time, and now I am honoured to be able to train full time as an archer. I'm able to shoot thousands of arrows a week and spend several hours in the gym, allowing me to give it my absolute best towards my dream of competing for Team GB at an Olympic Games. I'm very grateful to Movac.”
