Relief Branch Supervisor - Cambridge SG8 6DN

The applicant should have previous supervisory experience, possess a strong customer focus and have the ability to motivate and manage the performance of a team to ensure customers receive the best service.  This role offers responsibility across all aspects of trading operations.


To be a strong team leader, have the ability to identify the day to day and future needs of the branch and to take responsibility for the day to day running of the Branch competently and efficiently in the absence of the Branch Manager.

  • Knowledge of the coatings trade would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Purchase and Invoice Stock and produce Reports using the Rescura system (after training)
  • Ensure telephones are answered promptly
  • Ensure customer service levels are maintained and improved
  • Ensure all Paint Mixes and Colour Matches are dispatched within customer requirements
  • Ensure all Credit Notes are processed promptly
  • Ensure all Back Orders are dealt within 24 hours and back order report is maintained weekly
  • Ensure Drivers Cash and Till are reconciled and payments sent to Head Office
  • Ensure Stock Takes are accurate; identify and correct reasons for any stock discrepancies.
  • To support Sales Representatives and Branch staff, making good use of the Company’s sales and marketing tools
  • To promote sales via Driver Sales Representatives and Van Drivers
  • Support the management of Branch Staff with a positive attitude.
  • Ensure Company’s Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure Branch is opened and closed at correct times
  • Promote good housekeeping of premises
  • Promote a team spirit and healthy attitude amongst Branch Staff
  • Promote team work across the group with other branches.
  • To carry out additional duties or responsibilities as instructed, at any time, which fall reasonably within the scope of this job description, or in accordance with operational requirements.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5pm including a 30 mins unpaid lunchbreak and to work such additional hours as may from time to time reasonably be required of you.
