PAGE 05 Custom Paint

if you are interested in having your Car, Truck or Motorbike painted in a custom colour effect, read the following carefully!

There's much more to a Custom Paint job than meets the eye!
Movac recognised that people often underestimate the amount of work that goes in to a custom paint job. Over the years we have heard of some terrible tales....paint jobs turning out poor, stripey, dull, or
taking months and months to get done, astronomic prices being paid, poor fitment of spoilers and kits the list goes on.

You can help yourself!
1) Get organised! Draw your paint scheme to show the paint shop
2) Have all your kits and extras ready BEFORE you give your car to the paint shop. Get advice, some kits are rubbish and don't fit well at all.
3) Be EXACTING about your colour scheme, do not leave ANYTHING to interpretation.
4) Be realistic with your expectation on how long it takes to get a custom job done.
5) Agree the price before committing to anything.
6) Paint doesnt go onto rust! If your panels are rusted or have holes..be realistic, budget for replacement wings. What's the point in spending £££££'s on a superb job only to have rust come through in a matter of weeks?
7) Be aware that choosing some custom colors will dramatically affect your insurance rating. You may have a Group 3 car today, but putting a custom colour puts it into Group 19 overnight!
8) Take your pride and joy to a bodyshop that specialises in custom work.

Above all, budget carefully. Stick to your budget as these projects can get out of hand!

Remember a poor paint job will spoil the whole project..even if it has got superb ICE, fantastic interior, and terrific engine work.
